Colorado Bike and Ski Tours is proud to offer whitewater rafting trips minutes from Denver, Buena Vista, Breckenridge, Vail, and Aspen. So, whether you find yourself downtown or in a mountain town, we can make your day. We offer first-class rafting adventures with some fine possibilities. Most trips are done with a half day or full day options. We'll even put together an overnight excursion if you'd prefer. Maybe a night sleeping under the stars by campfire is just what you're looking for. And just where could you go? Our tours take on Class 1 to Class 5 rapids on four of Colorado's most exciting whitewater rivers. (the Colorado, the Arkansas, the Blue River & the Clear Creek). CBST not only makes it easy to design the perfect day for you and your family, we offer four convenient locations in Buena Vista, Breckenridge, Frisco, and Idaho Springs.

Our staff is more than happy and willing to design your whitewater adventure. We are a professional outfit that hires and trains professional guides who work on these rivers year after year. We'll work with you to choose the best trip for everyone in your group as all rafting trips are geared for particular interests and abilities. The hard part's picking just one. But, then again, do you really have to choose? Are'nt you on vacation? If you choose a full day or multi-day trip, we'll even give you the option of a grilled BBQ Steak, Chicken or Vegetarian picnic lunch on the shore. How nice are we? The vistas from these river excursions are nothing short of extraordinary. Whitewater rafting trips offered on the world famous Arkansas River through Browns Canyon and the Royal Gorge never fail to amaze even our return rafters.

So, you'd better get busy and decide which trip is for you. Well, first, how long do you got? Is it just one afternoon or can you stretch it to a day? Maybe a multi-day rafting overnight adventure? Do you want the mild or the wild? The cruise control or the kamikaze? Would you prefer to paddle with the guide or just relax and let the guide do the paddling instead? It could be that you have an adventurous spirit and want to try it solo in a duckie! Possibilities abound. Now remember: everyone counts. Pick the right trip for the whole group.

People come in all levels of experience, ability and passion. Let us break it down the way we see it. Beginner trips are for children and first-timers. Intermediate trips are for aggressive first timers and teens. Advanced trips are for experienced paddlers looking for an adventure. Expert trips are for very experienced paddlers only. And the same way we categorize people as rafters, we also categorize whitewater intensity levels and their characteristics. Here goes:

Class I - Easy. Small riffles. No significant waves or obstacles.
Class II - Novice. Moderate rapids with regular waves, small drops, clear passages and wide channels. Occasional maneuvering may be required.
Class III - Intermediate. Moderately difficult rapids with larger irregular waves, often narrow channels. Complex maneuvering to avoid obstacles required.
Class IV - Advanced. Intense, powerful rapids requiring precise maneuvering in fast, turbulent water. Complex channels with many significant obstacles to be avoided.
Class V - Expert. Extremely long, violent or obstructed rapids, often following each other almost without interruption. Drops may have large, unavoidable waves and holes or steep, congested chutes with difficult routes. Steep gradient.
Class VI - unrunnable
